The Tutong District Amateur Football Association (TDAFA) took its own initiative to increase the number of qualified referees to officiate football matches in both of the sultanate’s district and national leagues, becoming a good example to be followed by others.

National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam’s (NFABD’s) Executive Committee member Pengiran Haji Aliudin Pengiran Haji Tajudin said this in his speech at the launching of the basic football referee course at the TDAFA Office in Tutong.

He also congratulated TDAFA President Haji Othman Haji Ghazali and committee members for hosting the referee course, together with NFABD’s Referee Distrctor Abdul Razak Anuar and other instructors.

Organised by the Brunei Darussalam Referee Association in collaboration with NFABD and TDAFA, 10 referees are taking part in the four-day course, which is set to conclude on February 28.

TDAFA Deputy President I Haji Takong Ahmad, TDAFA Deputy President II Bujang Haji Japar, TDAFA General Secretary Matusin Sumpong, and President of Brunei Darussalam Referee Association Haji Hamidon Haji Md Zin were present during the launch.
